Job Description
Industrial Maintenance Teacher

Responsible to: Principal

Director of Career and Technical Education

Qualifications:
1. Valid TN Teacher’s License with Manufacturing 760, HVAC 707, Welding 705, Electrical
701 or Computer Aided Drafting 700 endorsement, or 3 out of the last 5 years field
experience and enrollment into a Teacher Prep Program
2. Highly Qualified status, as applicable, in areas of assigned instruction
3. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
4. Competent technological skills

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Prepares lesson plans and teaching strategies for course(s) of study taught
2. Aligns both course(s) curriculum taught and/or assessments with state and local
curriculum standards
3. Career and Technical Student Organization participation
4. Uses a variety of teaching strategies to facilitate student learning
5. Plans a program of study that addresses the individual needs and abilities of the
students
6. Develops and maintains a school/classroom environment conducive to learning and
socially appropriate for the age of students taught
7. Analyzes and uses appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments
8. Establishes and communicates clear expectations for all lessons, class work, and
projects.
9. Assigns lessons routinely and corrects student work in a timely fashion
10. Maintains good order in classroom and other areas of the school
11. Supervises students at school related functions including on and off campus activities
12.Consults with other professionals to address learning or behavioral problems with
specific students
13.Communicates with parents/guardian regularly through verbal and written form
14. Assesses the progress of students on a regular basis, both formative and summative,
and provides progress reports as required
15. Schedules parent conferences as directed by the system and as needed in particular
cases; if necessary, these conferences may be outside the school day as dictated by
student/parent/guardian needs
16.Keeps accurate attendance and academic performance records for assigned students
17.Reports to the appropriate administrative and/or consultative personnel when
knowledgeable or suspicious that a child’s health or welfare has been or appears to be
at risk
18. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,
materials, and facilities

19. Participates in school level faculty meetings, system professional development and in-
service meetings, staff committee meetings, and other workshops for teacher training

20. Plans, supervises, and provides guidance for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s)
21. Maintains accurate financial records
22. Provides detailed plans for substitute teachers including lessons, schedules and rules
regarding classroom organization, procedures and individual student needs

2. Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest
standards of public education and in support of the District’s Vision/Mission Statements
3. Maintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of
confidential student and staff information
4. Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assigned
